Vésteinn Hafsteinsson is one of the most successful throwing coaches in modern athletics. Over 30 years, he has guided athletes to Olympic gold medals and world championship titles. His athletes include Daniel Ståhl and Simon Pettersson, who took gold and silver in discus at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics, as well as Gerd Kanter who won world championship 2007 and olympic gold 2008. Voted Sports Leader of the Year in Sweden 2022 and awarded an honorary doctorate by Linnaeus University.
